3. Philadelphia 76ers
The 76ers are a team that has already been busy this offseason. New head coach Doc Rivers and president of basketball operations Daryl Morey will have a new-look roster when the season begins. Now, they could look to continue their overhaul by adding a veteran point guard.
Philadelphia was able to get rid of Al Horford‘s contract by sending him to Oklahoma City in exchange for Danny Green and Terrence Ferguson. The Sixers also acquired Seth Curry on draft day. This gave them multiple options from the three-point line, which is something they desperately needed.
Their glaring need for a backup point guard showed during the postseason. When Ben Simmons went down, they were forced to start Shake Milton and that led to a sweep in the first round at the hands of the Boston Celtics.
Jeff Teague played 59 games last season split between Minnesota and Atlanta. He averaged 5.8 assists per contest and that was considered a down year. Teague brings spacing and leadership to the floor. He would act as a perfect back up to Simmons on a Sixers team looking to compete.
