3. Los Angeles Lakers
If the Clippers are considered a good destination to win, then their crosstown rival is the best in the league. The Lakers are coming off of a championship in the bubble and are looking to improve their lineup in hopes of building the next great dynasty in the NBA.
Tristan Thompson has played alongside LeBron James with the Cavs for many years. Now that James has moved to Los Angeles, he could vouch for Thompson as the teams next big signing.
Thompson is a player who can clog up the middle defensively and rebound at a high level. He is the perfect front-court mate with Anthony Davis, who can stretch the floor and shoot with range. This would make the Lakers hard to defend down low and hard to score on given their shot blocking ability.
Los Angeles has been linked to players such as Kevin Love in trade rumors. If they decide to go down the route of signing a player, Thompson is a viable option for the franchise.
