Why the Trade Benefits the Boston Celtics

The Boston Celtics were bullied down low by Bam Adebayo in the Eastern Conference Finals. The NBA may be a league that relies easily on the three-point shot but there are still some centers in the league that thrive in the post. Adebayo is one and he is a true rim protector.

Boston had a difficult time competing in the paint. This is what Steven Adams would fix. He has always been a force down low which is what Boston needs. They have three first-round picks and they would be giving up just one.

This would still allow them to trade up if they feel the need. Also, the Celtics would be rid of Gordon Hayward’s contract. That makes this deal a perfect situation for Boston.

The Celtics are ready to win-now. Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown are quickly turning into two of the top players in the game. They have an elite head coach in Brad Stevens and championships are the expectation.
