New York Knicks Move Up To No. 2
Just like the Golden State Warriors have been rumored to be interested in moving down in the 2020 NBA Draft, the New York Knicks have interest in moving up. New York has said that they would look to trade out of the No. 8 slot if Wiseman or Ball do not fall. Well, as it becomes more apparent that they will not drop, the Knicks have changed tones.
Landing the No. 8 pick in the 2020 NBA Draft was a disappointment for the Knicks. They were hoping to land higher and draft that franchise point guard, something they have not had in what feels like decades. It is clear that the Knicks view Ball as that player.
The Knicks would have to give up the No. 8 pick in return and possibly a future 1st rounder. They also have players like Dennis Smith Jr., Taj Gibson, and Bobby Portis who could be used in the deal.
New York is less than thin at point guard. Smith Jr., Frank Ntilikina, and Elfrid Payton make up what might be the worst unit in the league. A young core of Ball, R.J. Barrett, and Mitchell Robinson could be a start to the Knicks trending in the right direction.
