Ben Simmons Gets Dealt To Golden State Warriors

When Doc Rivers took over as head coach in Philadelphia, the idea of trading either Simmons or Joel Embiid seemed like a long shot. Now that Daryl Morey has taken over in the front office, that tone could change moving forward.

It is safe to say that the Simmons-Embiid pair has been a failure. That was highlighted in the bubble by a sweep in the first round at the hands of the Boston Celtics. The Sixers have two of the league’s worst contracts in Al Horford and Tobias Harris.

If they would be able to get rid of Horford’s contract and acquire the No. 2 pick in the 2020 NBA Draft, then a trade for Simmons might be worth it. They would be able to land a replacement point guard and clear up some cap space.

This would be a complete shock around the league. The Warriors would continue to get stronger by adding Simmons in the backcourt. He would be able to playoff the ball and bring another dynamic to the Warriors.
