Knicks are doing ‘everything’ to trade up in NBA Draft for this prospect

The New York Knicks will look to use the 2020 NBA Draft to improve their roster. A critical question will be the method in which they take to get it done. Could trading up for an intriguing prospect with Mitchell Robinson or RJ Barrett be a potential option?

According to NBA Big Board’s Chad Ford, the Knicks are doing ‘everything’ they can to trade up from No. 8 in the 2020 NBA Draft— putting them in a position to select LaMelo Ball. The asking price would be steep.

I continue to hear the Knicks are doing everything they can to move up — but the asking price to get in the Top 3 for a shot at LaMelo Ball may be too rich for their blood — Mitchell Robinson, the No. 8 pick and either a future first rounder or RJ Barrett.  That’s a lot.

The Knicks have been linked to some star players like Russell Westbrook and Chris Paul in trade rumors. When considering the age of those players, it would not be a better option than embracing a prospect like LaMelo Ball using the 2020 NBA Draft.

Having to give up a prospect the caliber of RJ Barrett or Mitchell Robinson would be a tough price to pay in order to move into the top-three of the NBA Draft. There’s also no guarantee the Minnesota Timberwolves won’t end up using the No. 1 pick to take who the Knicks want.

If the New York Knicks truly believe in LaMelo Ball that much to justify putting together such an aggressive trade proposal. There seems to be plenty of interest from teams in the idea of trading up for James Wiseman
