3. Los Angeles Clippers
Russell Westbrook proved that he is still capable of being an extremely productive point guard. He averaged 27.2 points, 7.9 rebounds, and 7.0 assists per game for the Rockets last season.
The Clippers featured plenty of firepower, but they did not have an option at point guard.
Kawhi Leonard and Paul George were the clear-cut leaders on the team, but the Clippers needed someone to handle the ball and take pressure off their wings. Patrick Beverley and Landry Shamet were the names featured on the depth chart.
Beverley is a fierce defender, but he is not the dynamic offensive option that the Clippers could use. That is where Westbrook comes into play. The Clippers could look to make another big move after blowing a 3-1 lead in the second round against the Denver Nuggets.
In a trade, the Clippers would give up depth. Beverley, Lou Williams, and Ivica Zubac would most likely have to be involved. They already lost years worth of draft capital in the George trade with the Oklahoma City Thunder.
If they want to take that next step towards a championship, this is a deal to consider.
