2. Boston Celtics
The Celtics are another long shot, but an intriguing team to watch in the Russell Westbrook sweepstakes. They were one of the hottest teams in the bubble, but could not get past the Miami Heat in the Eastern Conference Finals. With Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown, Boston is setup well for the future and could add a veteran guard.
Boston is a possibility because of the assets they have available to add in a deal. The Celtics currently have three first-round picks in the upcoming NBA Draft. There is no need for them to make all three and could use them either to move up in the draft or in a blockbuster deal.
Westbrook is a dynamic ball handler and passer. He would add another threat and would be able to set up Tatum and Brown well.
This deal would also allow the Celtics to move Kemba Walker and get a return for his services. There are multiple ways a move could get done to get Westbrook to Boston. It will be interesting to see if any get done.
