This Cavs-Lakers-Warriors trade would impact title odds in major way

Why the Trade Benefits the Golden State Warriors

The Golden State Warriors could take a big man in James Wiseman with the No. 2 pick in the 2020 NBA Draft. Why not trade down a few spots while adding an established big man in the league? Andre Drummond is already the NBA’s best rebounder and is a dynamic play finisher in the paint.

The Warriors have won with elite talent on the perimeter and beyond the arc but they have never had a big man the caliber of Drummond. While Wiseman might be a good prospect, the Warriors are a win-now team and would benefit from a proven center.

They would give up Andrew Wiggins in this deal and move from No. 2 to No. 5 in the 2020 NBA Draft. They would be able to draft his replacement, perhaps a player like Deni Avdija.

This is a big win for the Warriors. They would land Drummond and still remain in the top-five in the NBA Draft. There is no doubt that Golden State will be back near the top of the league in 2020-21 and if they made a move this kind, it would only solidify their standing.
