4 steps to a perfect offseason for the New York Knicks

This has been a strange NBA offseason and that includes the New York Knicks actually hiring a good candidate at head coach. Tom Thibodeau should have the team playing tough, especially on the defensive end.

The roster needs a complete overhaul. Outside of Mitchell Robinson and R.J. Barrett, there is not much to feel good about. Kevin Knox is a complete bust and Frank Ntilikina has yet to improve on the offensive end.

As we enter the offseason, the Knicks will look to make some moves and it begins with the 2020 NBA Draft— where they hold the No. 8 overall selection. The Knicks are a long way away from competing so it is all about building a foundation by adding another intriguing prospect.

The Knicks signed veteran players to short-term deals in hopes of trading them away and freeing up cap space. That could still be used to their advantage this offseason as teams will seek to clear salary-cap spending in exchange for expiring deals.
