Why the Trade Benefits the Atlanta Hawks
Outside of Trae Young and John Collins, the Hawks feature players like De’Andre Hunter, Kevin Huerter, and Clint Capela. Drafting a talent like Anthony Edwards or LaMelo Ball would shore up the backcourt while adding depth to the bench.
The Hawks would have to part ways with Reddish in this deal. The Duke product improved throughout the year and has a high-ceiling, but would not be difficult to trade. He averaged 10.6 points per game on 38.7% from the field and 33.2% from three-point range.
Adding the No. 1 pick in the draft would go a long way towards the rebuild in Atlanta. Young and Collins are the core and they could look to continue to build it.
A back-court of Edwards and Young could be exactly what the Hawks need to get back in the playoffs mix.
