5 teams who must take a chance on a John Wall trade

Sacramento Kings

The Sacramento Kings are set to build around De’Aaron Fox in their backcourt, which is good news for Kings fans.

But other than Fox, there’s uncertainty in Sacramento’s backcourt. Buddy Hield has not been shy about his issues with Luke Walton in the past, and Bogdan Bogdanovic is a restricted free agent this offseason.

If there is a lot of turnover in Sacramento this offseason, perhaps a move for Wall could make sense. Sacramento is rebuilding, but there is pressure from fans to make the playoffs after a huge layoff. Wall wouldn’t come cheap, but it would be worth a shot and the Wizards could be open to moving on.

The Kings may need a star such as Wall, who has the experience and the name recognition to appease fans. Wall alone likely wouldn’t push the Kings into the top eight in the West, but it would be a start to Monte McNair’s tenure as GM.
