Why the Washington Wizards Should Do It
If the Washington Wizards are going to move on from Bradley Beal and get out from under the approximately $100 million he’ll earn over the next three seasons, this would be a good offer to do so.
It would be a clear shift away from the Wall and Beal era, but perhaps it’s time to consider such a move. There doesn’t appear to be much of a pathway for contention in the Eastern Conference.
This trade gives the Wizards two coveted young players in Hunter and Reddish. Washington would also have two picks in the top nine of the 2020 NBA Draft— with Atlanta’s at No. 6 and Washington’s own at No. 9.
In theory, the Wizards could even try to package those two picks to move up in the draft, so this deal would give Washington a multitude of options moving forward.
