NBA Draft Prospect No. 1 — Obi Toppin
Obi Toppin is a bit underrated because he played at Dayton and is a bit older. At 22-years old, Toppin is one of the older prospects but that should not shy teams away. He is experienced and extremely skilled at 6’9.
From the power forward position, Toppin can score the ball at all three levels. He finished shooting 69.8% from two-point range and 39% from beyond the arc last season with the Flyers.
Toppin has an excellent athletic ability and can handle the ball in the open court. He is a run-and-gun type of big man. Toppin has the makings of a player who could be good in the NBA for a decade or so. The question remains, where will he be picked?
The Warriors could look to draft Toppin as high as two or he could fall near double-digits. If a team is high on him, he may not make it out of the six or seven. Toppin should be on team’s radars. If there is one player that is worth trading up for, it is Toppin.
