The Hawks could use some help on the perimeter at the shooting guard or small forward position, but if a player like Markkanen becomes available, why not try and make a deal?

The big man could use a change of scenery. Chicago is not where you want to be if you want to improve and win.

Markkanen has a game similar to that of Kristaps Porzingis. He can dominate down low scoring and rebounding or step out and knock down a shot from deep. Playing with a young talent like Young could provide a spark for Markannen. They would be a nice pick-and-pop duo on the perimeter. This trade would either require their NBA Draft pick or the services of Collins or Capela.

Markkanen is going to be a sought after player for more teams than just the Hawks. If he is on the move in the offseason, Atlanta will be on the other line trying to make a deal.
