The Celtics, like the Rockets, could use an upgrade at center. It’s one of Boston’s needs this offseason. Coming together with the Cavaliers on an Andre Drummond could make perfect sense.

Whether Drummond’s salary could work remains to be seen, but Drummond would give the Celtics another element at center.

Boston has been rumored in connection with Indiana’s Myles Turner, who is both younger and more affordable. But if the Pacers hold on to Turner, or trade him somewhere other than Boston, Drummond could be another option.

The Celtics will try to make another run in the East next season, but some of Boston’s flaws were exposed in the loss to Miami in the playoffs.

If the Celtics want a veteran big man who’s comfortable in the Eastern Conference, they could look to acquire Drummond on a one-year contract.
