Detroit Pistons Receive: Gary Harris, 2020 1st Round Pick (via Houston)
Denver Nuggets Receive: Derrick Rose, Tony Snell
In the Q&A in the Denver Post from the last slide, Harris is mentioned in the context of Jrue Holiday of the New Orleans Pelicans. In order to acquire a player of Holiday’s caliber, the Nuggets would probably need to attach multiple draft assets.
But in the context of Detroit, Harris’s salary is along the lines of Derrick Rose’s and Tony Snell’s combined.
This trade gives the Nuggets a pair of intriguing guards, while Detroit would try to tap into Harris’s potential.
Before we assess the deal for each team, a note about the first round pick heading from Denver to Detroit: if Rose is in high demand this offseason, and teams such as the Lakers, Clippers and Warriors are interested, the Pistons would be able to sell him to the highest bidder.
Harris alone likely wouldn’t net Rose in a trade at this time.
