This 76ers-Pistons trade pairs Derrick Rose with Embiid, Simmons

Detroit Pistons guard Derrick Rose figures to be a popular target for contending teams this offseason, as the 32-year-old enters the final year of his contract. Could Rose be a trade target for the Philadelphia 76ers?

The 76ers, in Doc Rivers’ first season in Philadelphia could prove to be an ideal landing spot for Rose. The former No. 1 overall pick would seemingly have many suitors, including presumably the Lakers and Clippers.

But in Philadelphia, Rose could team up with two gifted, young players in Joel Embiid and Ben Simmons.

Rose is still a capable scorer, and he’d be a valuable veteran presence on a 76ers team alongside Ben Simmons and Joel Embiid that fell short of expectations last season.

This would be a relatively low-risk move for the 76ers, especially considering Rose is only under contract for the 2020-21 season.

Let’s take a look at a hypothetical trade, and then assess it for both the Philadelphia 76ers and Detroit Pistons.
