The Atlanta Hawks continue to monitor Toronto Raptors star Pascal Siakam as a potential trade target after attempting to acquire him this past offseason, according to Michael Scotto of HoopsHype.
Hawks forward De’Andre Hunter was among the players discussed during the Siakam talks and his $20 million salary makes him a trade candidate to watch in a potential deal with the Raptors.
Several teams could make a trade for Siakam, including the Hawks, Sacramento Kings, Philadelphia 76ers and Indiana Pacers. Siakam has one year left on his contract.
“If Toronto is willing to pay up for Siakam, they’ll keep him,” an NBA executive told Scotto.

Siakam is averaging 19.8 points, 7.0 rebounds and 5.2 assists for the Raptors this season while shooting 48.3% from the field, 20.8% from beyond the arc and 72.5% from the free-throw line. Toronto and Siakam have made no progress in extension talks.
A two-time All-Star, Siakam has career averages of 17.1 points, 6.6 rebounds and 3.6 assists. The Hawks would have a “Big 3” of Siakam, Trae Young and Dejounte Murray if Atlanta’s front office figured out a path to acquire Siakam from Toronto.
Siakam wanted to sign an extension with the Raptors this past offseason. He was a little disappointed a deal wasn’t reached. However, Siakam hasn’t requested a trade from Toronto.

Siakam has made two All-NBA teams and has won one title and one Most Improved Player of the Year Award. The Hawks, who haven’t gotten past the first round of the playoffs since reaching the Eastern Conference Finals in 2021, have been trying to acquire Siakam since last season ended.
