Acquire Jarrett Allen
The Nets might have to make a decision this season on their permanent center. But could it lead to the eventual departure of Jarrett Allen?
When Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving teamed up in Brooklyn, they did so along with DeAndre Jordan.
Allen was already in Brooklyn before any of Durant, Irving or Jordan arrived, but as we know, superstars cause teams to change their plans, quickly.
If Durant and Irving persuade new coach Steve Nash that Jordan, not Allen should have the majority of minutes at center, the Nets should look to trade Allen rather than holding on to him.
Allen is just 22 years old, and he’s the type of player the Clippers won’t be able to acquire in the draft for the next half-decade or so.
On the surface, it’s probably too early for the Nets to give up on Allen. But the Nets have to capitalize on their window of time with Durant and Irving, and if that means playing Jordan over Allen, Brooklyn would likely do it to appease their stars.
