4. Kentavious Caldwell-Pope
The next free agent that the Lakers need to re-sign/extend is Kentavious Caldwell-Pope. Along with Rondo, KCP provided a huge boost on both sides of the Ball for Los Angeles.
Lakers head coach Frank Vogel utilized Caldwell-Pope as a two-way guard. KCP often guarded the opponent’s best player and still managed to score 10 points or more.
During the postseason the 6-foot-5 guard averaged 10.7 points, 2.1 rebounds, and 1.3 assists per game. In his second postseason appearance, he provided a consistent three-point threat.
Early in his career, he was often labeled as a streaky shooter. But this season he proved that he is reliable and that he can do more than shoot threes.
Throughout the playoffs, KCP guarded the likes of Damian Lillard, CJ McCollum, James Harden, Jamal Murray, and Jimmy Butler.
Even though Caldwell-Pope is fourth on the list, the defending champs must extend his contact.
