Knicks ‘seriously mulling’ trading 8th pick in 2020 NBA Draft

The New York Knicks will look to add an intriguing prospect like James Wiseman or LaMelo Ball in the 2020 NBA Draft. There is also the option of using the No. 8 pick in a potential trade. Regardless, it will be a helpful piece to add a new member to their core.

According to Marc Berman of The New York Post, the Knicks are “seriously mulling” the idea of trading down from the No. 8 pick in the 2020 NBA Draft if either James Wiseman or LaMelo Ball is not available.

According to two league sources, the Knicks are seriously mulling trading back in the Nov. 18 draft unless big man James Wiseman or point guard LaMelo Ball fall back to the eighth spot.

If the Knicks are set on wanting James Wiseman or LaMelo Ball in the 2020 NBA Draft, they will almost surely have to trade up from the No. 8 spot. Waiting for either of those players to fall would lead to disappointment.

There would be an intriguing prospect available whether the Knicks stay at the No. 8 spot or if they were to trade back. This class has no shortage of intriguing wing shooters with defensive potential along with a couple of standout guards that should be available for New York.

Regardless of what the New York Knicks decide to do in the 2020 NBA Draft, it’s important they manage to get it right. They have struggled to hit on draft picks in recent years and it has held them back substantially.
