Why It Makes Sense For The 76ers
As for the 76ers, they would be getting a load of talent from the Pelicans. Obviously, the big catch would be Jrue Holiday, who is one of the most underrated stars in the game. He is a threat offensively, but he is an elite perimeter defender as well.
Bringing in Lonzo Ball would give the 76ers a new starting back-court. JJ Redick is familiar with the 76ers and new head coach Doc Rivers and could be a very nice bench piece to provide elite shooting.
Two first-round picks always come in handy. Philadelphia could make another deal with those picks or they could add cheap young talent with them. There are endless possibilities with draft picks.
Rivers and the 76ers know they are close to seriously competing in the Eastern Conference. Moving Simmons for Holiday and Ball might take them closer to the NBA Finals.
Making the decision to trade Ben Simmons won’t be an easy one, but this trade package might get it done.
