The Hypothetical Trade:
76ers Receive: Lonzo Ball, Jrue Holiday, JJ Redick, Nickeil Alexander-Walker, 2020 No. 13 overall pick, 2021 first-round pick (top-seven protected via Lakers)
Pelicans Receive: Ben Simmons, Al Horford
Wow, that’s a lot to process. There is no question that this would be one of the biggest trades in recent NBA history. Parting with Simmons wouldn’t be easy, but this deal would force both sides to seriously consider pulling the trigger.
This trade was suggested by Bleacher Report, and while it may some crazy, it makes sense.
If Brand and the 76ers are going to make a big move, this would be the kind of trade it would take. All of these pieces would fit nicely around Joel Embiid. It would also give Doc Rivers a ton of depth to work with.
While the Pelicans would have to give up a huge haul, they would be getting two players to help them win now.
Let’s take a deeper look at this trade from the perspective of each team involved.
