3. Jrue Holiday
With the number of dynamic guards in the Western Conference, the Nuggets would benefit from having an on-ball defender like Jrue Holiday. Having that type of impact could help to impact the outcome of a playoff series depending on the matchup.
Pairing Jamal Murray with Holiday in the backcourt would enable each player to do what they do best. Murray would be able to focus on torching opposing defenses with his dynamic scoring while Holiday can check the toughest guard matchup on defense.
The main concern that comes with Holiday is his lack of efficient offensive contributions. He has an ability to facilitate and create shots for others, however, he has been underwhelming creating his own shot and when playing off the ball.
Perhaps playing with the level of talent the Nuggets have could help Holiday to get the best out of his skill-set. He wouldn’t be responsible for handling substantial ball-handling responsibilities and will have effective playmakers to help create simpler shots for him.
