One of the limitations the Nuggets faced against the Lakers was a lack of efficient perimeter shooting from their frontcourt. Denver emphasized bolstering their defense with Paul Millsap and Jerami Grant, but it doesn’t appear to be the pathway to winning it all.

Denver would benefit from adding more reliable catch-and-shoot threats in their lineup to pair with Nikola Jokic and Jamal Murray. Making it as difficult as possible to send extra defensive attention to them should be a priority and Love would help.

There would be defensive limitations for the Nuggets by pairing Jokic with Love in the frontcourt. Denver would need to determine whether their offensive output could overcome potential deficiencies on the other end.

The main concern with Love is that he is under contract through the 2022-23 season and at a pretty substantial price. The Nuggets would need to be certain they want him as a part of their organization for the next few years before they pull off such a move.
