Dave Joerger
This would be an interesting choice for the Pacers, as Joerger is mainly known for his prowess as a defensive coach. But, he should be added to the list and it wouldn’t be shocking to see Indiana take a look at him.
Joerger last coached the Sacramento Kings, but ended up leaving town frustrated with the franchise’s dysfunction and lack of direction. He is still a very underrated head coach and could be a nice choice for Indiana.
Throughout his six-year NBA head coaching career, Joerger has compiled a 245-247 record. He had three successful seasons with the Memphis Grizzlies to start his career, but didn’t get farther than the Western Conference semi-finals. If he brought in an offensive guru as an assistant, this fit could work.
No one would be ecstatic about the move, but Joerger would be an upgrade from McMillan. The Pacers may not opt for experience, but Joerger is a name to keep an eye on.
