Sam Cassell
Currently an assistant for Doc Rivers with the Clippers, Cassell could make a ton of sense for the Pacers. He may not have head coaching experience, but that won’t be a dealbreaker.
Learning from a top-tier head coach like Rivers goes a long way in a coaches development. Cassell would come in ready for the job. He also seems to be a very bright offensive coach who could surround himself with a knowledgeable staff.
Cassell is going to be a head coach at some point in the future. If the Pacers choose to go with a young head coach, Cassell could be their guy.
This may not be the “sexy” pick for the Pacers, but it certainly wouldn’t be a bad one.
