Milwaukee Bucks
The Milwaukee Bucks must be thinking about the future this summer. Even if they can walk away with the NBA Championship when play resumes in Orlando, the main goal is to find a way for Giannis Antetokounmpo to sign a long-term deal.
One of the ways to do this is by providing him with weapons that no other team will have. By going after Hassan Whiteside this offseason, the Bucks will prove to Antetokounmpo that they mean business. With Khris Middleton already signed through 2024, the Bucks have one piece of that building block in place.
Eric Bledsoe and Brook Lopez will be with the team next season barring any trades which still give the Bucks a nice nucleus. Whiteside just wants a fair chance to win a championship. Lopez is not the scorer he once was while with the Brooklyn Nets and his defense and rebounding has always been suspect at best.
Pairing Whiteside to anchor an already strong defense would be the icing on the cake. Although his contract demands will take the small-market Bucks to new heights, winning a title is what’s important.
