With the season ready to resume after a few months off due to COVID-19, the focus is still who will walk away with the Larry O’Brien Trophy in Orlando. However, teams must still focus their attention to free agency. There are a few names out there that could shift the power of the NBA in a few team’s favor. One of those names belongs to Hassan Whiteside.

Whiteside is currently with the Portland Trail Blazers and there’s a good chance he may walk when the season is over. If the Blazers fail to resign the soon-to-be 31-year old center, his services will be in high demand. Even after a rocky ending with the Miami Heat, Whiteside has proven his worth while with the Blazers.

This season, Whiteside has averaged 16.3 points, 14.2 rebounds, and 3.1 blocks while shooting .618 percent from the floor. The saying is that the game is now won on the perimeter but a player like Whiteside can be the missing link.
