Los Angeles Lakers: 3 Bold Predictions for LeBron James in 2018-19

LeBron James is about to embark on a new chapter of his career in Los Angeles. His time in Cleveland was a success despite failing to the Warriors on multiple occasions. The 2016 championship more than makes up for that.

Age-wise, LeBron is in the twilight of his career. He may be physically aging but he’s showing no signs of slowing down on and off the court. The Lakers present a new challenge for The King, one that he’s bound to embrace and attack with a relentlessness only shown by the league’s greats.

The roster composition presents some unique possibilities, to say the least, but that likely won’t take away much from LeBron’s effectiveness. There’ll certainly be ups and downs and maybe, finally, James may start to show some signs of slowing down but don’t count on it. You can argue he had the greatest season of his career at the age of 33.

The Western Conference will be an entirely different beast to the one James has been conquering for over a decade. There’ll be no nights off and the Lakers will battle just to make the playoffs alone. For LeBron to lift this franchise back into the upper echelon he’ll need to do some great things, even by his own lofty standards. There’ll no doubt be some change afoot come the 2018-19 season.

In saying that, here are 3 bold predictions for The King next season.
