Indiana Pacers: 3 Takeaways from the 2018 NBA Offseason

Myles Turner Is Poised for a Massive Season

Perhaps the most important aspect of the offseason thus far for the Pacers has been the transformation from Myles Turner. Fans in Indiana crucified Turner last season, but the big man was put in a difficult situation. Now, he is working out hard preparing to come back in 2018-19 and prove his doubters wrong.

Turner has been bulking up a bit and focusing on areas of need in his body. He has done things like boxing, hard cardio, and even some yoga thrown into the mix.

Turner finished the 2017-18 NBA season with averages of 12.7 points, 6.4 rebounds, and 1.6 blocks. He shot 47.9 percent from the field and knocked down 35.7 percent of his three-point attempts.

At just 22 years old, Turner has plenty of time to get to where the Pacers need him to be. If he had stayed in college, he would just be coming out of school to enter the NBA Draft. Fans need to keep that in mind when they attack the young big man.

With an improved body and more confidence, Turner will come back and improve dramatically. Indiana may not have added a star in free agency, but the improvement of Turner has the potential to be the biggest “addition” the team makes.
