Report: 76ers Won’t Pursue Trade For Raptors’ Bruce Brown

According to NBA insider Keith Pompey of The Philadelphia Inquirer, the Philadelphia 76ers will not pursue a trade for Toronto Raptors guard Bruce Brown.

The Raptors, who acquired Brown from the Indiana Pacers in the Pascal Siakam deal, are expected to trade Brown.

The New York Knicks and Los Angeles Lakers are interested in acquiring Brown. According to NBA insider Michael Scotto of HoopsHype, rival executives expect Sixers general manager Daryl Morey to continue gauging the trade market through the deadline.

Philadelphia is not expected to pursue Chicago Bulls guard Zach LaVine or Atlanta Hawks guard Dejounte Murray, according to NBA insider Shams Charania of The Athletic and Stadium. The Sixers didn’t go after Siakam either.

Brown signed a two-year, $45 million contract with the Pacers last offseason in unrestricted free agency. The Miami product is making $22 million this season. He has a club option worth $23 million for next season.

In 33 games with the Pacers, Brown averaged 12.1 points, 4.7 rebounds, 3.0 assists, 1.1 steals and 0.2 blocks while shooting 47.5% from the floor, 32.7% from 3 and 81.7% from the free-throw line. The combo guard finished with 15 points, seven rebounds and one assist in his Raptors debut against the Bulls while shooting 7-of-10 overall and 1-of-3 from beyond the arc.

Brown, who helped the Denver Nuggets win the 2023 championship over the Miami Heat in five games, has career averages of 8.9 points, 4.3 rebounds, 2.5 assists, 0.9 steals and 0.5 blocks with the Detroit Pistons, Brooklyn Nets, Nuggets, Pacers and Raptors.
