Report: 76ers Not Aggressively Pursuing Zach LaVine, Dejounte Murray

According to NBA insider Shams Charania of The Athletic and Stadium, the Philadelphia 76ers are not aggressively pursuing Chicago Bulls guard Zach LaVine or Atlanta Hawks guard Dejounte Murray.

The Sixers didn’t heavily pursue Pascal Siakam either. The Toronto Raptors wound up trading Siakam to the Indiana Pacers.

According to NBA insider Michael Scotto of HoopsHype, rival executives expect Sixers general manager Daryl Morey to continue gauging the trade market through the deadline.

For the Hawks, Murray is averaging 21.0 points, 4.8 rebounds, 4.8 assists, 1.4 steals and 0.3 blocks this season while shooting 47.1% from the field, 38.3% from beyond the arc and 82.5% from the free-throw line. He’s making $17.7 million.

Meanwhile, LaVine is averaging 20.0 points, 5.3 rebounds, 4.0 assists, 0.9 steals and 0.3 blocks for the Bulls while shooting 45.3% from the floor, 34.9% from 3 and 85.3% from the foul line. He’s making $40 million.

The Hawks are expected to trade Murray before the February 8 trade deadline. Murray has been linked to the Los Angeles Lakers, New York Knicks, Brooklyn Nets, Raptors and Detroit Pistons.

As for LaVine, he might not get traded by the Bulls since his value around the NBA is low.

The Sixers are 26-13 on the season. They are in third place in the Eastern Conference standings. Morey doesn’t have to make a trade since the team is playing well right now. Philadelphia is sixth in the NBA in points per game and ninth in points per game allowed.
