The Toronto Raptors could trade Pascal Siakam and OG Anunoby before the trade deadline in February, but Scottie Barnes has been deemed untouchable in any trade conversations, according to NBA insider Shams Charania of The Athletic.

The Raptors are 9-14 on the season. They are in 11th place in the Eastern Conference standings and don’t look like a playoff team.

Barnes is averaging 19.8 points, 9.0 rebounds and 5.6 assists for the Raptors this season while shooting 47.1% from the field, 38.2% from beyond the arc and 75.6% from the free-throw line. He was the fourth overall pick in the 2021 NBA Draft out of Florida State.

NBA NEWS & TRADE RUMORS: Scottie Barnes, Toronto Raptors Updates

Barnes, who won the 2021-22 Rookie of the Year Award, has career averages of 15.9 points, 7.3 rebounds and 4.3 assists. The Raptors are high on the youngster, so much so that they didn’t offer Barnes to the Portland Trail Blazers for Damian Lillard.

Siakam is in the final year of his contract with the Raptors, while Anunoby is expected to decline his 2024-25 player option and enter unrestricted free agency after this season. Teams such as the Atlanta Hawks, Sacramento Kings and Indiana Pacers are expected suitors for Siakam or Anunoby. Those teams believe Siakam appears to be the likelier player to be traded.

NBA NEWS & TRADE RUMORS: Scottie Barnes, Toronto Raptors Updates

The Raptors haven’t offered Siakam a contract extension and many people around the NBA believe Siakam is upset. Unless Toronto can turn things around quickly, the front office would be wise to trade Siakam and Anunoby and build around Barnes.
