A new NBA trade proposal would send Pascal Siakam from the Toronto Raptors to the Brooklyn Nets.
Zach Buckley of Bleacher Report proposed the following trade idea between the Raptors and Nets:
The Toronto Raptors trade Pascal Siakam to the Brooklyn Nets for Spencer Dinwiddie, Dorian Finney-Smith, Noah Clowney and a 2027 first-round pick (via PHO)
Siakam is averaging 20.1 points, 6.8 rebounds and 5.4 assists this season while shooting 49.8% from the field, 23.4% from beyond the arc and 73.1% from the free-throw line.
NBA NEWS & TRADE RUMORS: Pascal Siakam, Toronto Raptors, Brooklyn Nets Updates
Siakam has one year left on his contract and the Raptors have not offered him an extension yet. Siakam could be traded before the February 2024 trade deadline and the Nets have been linked to the NBA champion before.
The Nets, who are building around Mikal Bridges and Cam Thomas, could start Thomas, Cameron Johnson, Bridges, Siakam and Nic Claxton if Brooklyn’s front office figured out a way to acquire Siakam from Toronto.
“Finding a capable co-star might give this group a chance to compete for more than a play-in tournament invitation, and Siakam would enhance a lot of Brooklyn’s strengths with his length, versatility and unrelenting energy,” Buckley wrote.
Several NBA teams have shown interest in pursuing Siakam via trade over the past five months, but the external market has been tempered a bit due to the fact that it’s been made clear Siakam would not extend with a team that trades for him.
