One NBA analyst believes the Boston Celtics should target Chicago Bulls center Andre Drummond.
Zach Buckley of Bleacher Report thinks Drummond can help the Celtics on the boards.
“He could be the kind of player Boston acquires to keep behind emergency glass,” Buckley wrote. “If this team faces a low-post bruiser in the playoffs—several could wind up on this club’s road to a title—it might get more mileage out of Drummond than Kornet in that matchup. That insurance alone would justify Drummond’s trade cost, which would be minimal.”
Zach LaVine is looking to get traded by the Bulls. If LaVine is moved, Chicago will likely rebuild and trade the other veterans on the roster like Drummond, DeMar DeRozan, Nikola Vucevic and Alex Caruso.

Drummond is averaging 6.1 points, 6.2 rebounds and 1.3 steals this season while shooting 55.9% from the field and 64.0% from the free-throw line. He’s playing only 13.8 minutes a game since the Bulls start Vucevic.
When Drummond was an All-Star with the Detroit Pistons and the Pistons were shopping the big man, the Celtics were interested in acquiring him. Boston currently has Kristaps Porzingis and Al Horford. The team is first in the NBA in rebounds per game but only 16th in offensive rebounds per game.
Drummond is one of the best rebounders in NBA history. He has career averages of 13.0 points and 12.6 rebounds with the Pistons, Cleveland Cavaliers, Los Angeles Lakers, Philadelphia 76ers, Brooklyn Nets and Bulls.

The Celtics don’t have to make a trade since they have the top record in the NBA, but if Brad Stevens wants to add more big-man depth, Buckley thinks the exec should take a look at Drummond.
