One NBA writer is proposing that the Cleveland Cavaliers acquire Malcolm Brogdon from the Portland Trail Blazers.

Andy Bailey of Bleacher Report proposed the following trade idea between the Cavaliers and Blazers:

Malcolm Brogdon for Caris LeVert, Isaac Okoro, a 2025 second-round pick (via Milwaukee) and a 2026 second-round pick

The Blazers acquired Brogdon from the Boston Celtics in the Jrue Holiday trade. Most people around the NBA don’t expect Brogdon to remain with Portland since the franchise is in rebuild mode after trading Damian Lillard to the Milwaukee Bucks.

NBA NEWS & TRADE RUMORS: Malcolm Brogdon, Portland Trail Blazers, Cleveland Cavaliers Updates

Bailey thinks the Cavaliers could use Brogdon for a few reasons.

“Having Brogdon would make them more survivable,” Bailey wrote. “He’s more of a distributor and a more reliable outside shooter than Caris LeVert. And while the loss of Isaac Okoro changes the team’s long-term prospects a bit, the offseason additions of Max Strus and Georges Niang would help make up for his loss on the wing in the short term. In certain situations, Cleveland might even be able to play all of Garland, Mitchell and Brogdon together.”

Brogdon is averaging 17.3 points, 4.8 rebounds and 5.5 assists this season while shooting 40.5% from the field, 34.0% from beyond the arc and 80.0% from the free-throw line. He won the Sixth Man of the Year Award with the Celtics last season.

The 30-year-old Brogdon has career averages of 15.4 points, 4.2 rebounds and 4.6 assists with the Bucks, Indiana Pacers, Celtics and Blazers.
