One NBA writer is proposing that the Chicago Bulls and Oklahoma City Thunder make a bold trade featuring Patrick Williams and Kenrich Williams. Zach Buckley of Bleacher Report proposed the following trade idea between the Bulls and Thunder:

Trade idea: Oklahoma City Thunder trade Kenrich Williams, Ousmane Dieng and 2026 first-round pick (via LAC) to Chicago Bulls for Patrick Williams

“Patrick Williams, the No. 4 pick in 2020, offers that kind of upside,” Buckley wrote in his latest NBA trade column. “He is already thriving in a three-and-D role, but he’s shown flashes of creation and shot-making that suggest he could become something so much greater down the line. Maybe the Bulls aren’t buying that upside given his failure to launch through his first three seasons. If that’s the case, Chicago could see value in flipping him for pieces that can help right now and down the road.

“Kenrich Williams is a plug-and-play option with similar three-and-D appeal, while Dieng and the Clippers pick could either brighten the Bulls’ future or be used in trades for more win-now support.”

Patrick Williams appeared in all 82 games for the Bulls last season. He averaged 10.2 points, 4.0 rebounds and 1.2 assists while shooting 46.4% from the field, 41.5% from beyond the arc and 85.7% from the free-throw line. Williams was the fourth overall pick in the 2020 NBA Draft out of Florida State.

Meanwhile, Kenrich Williams played in 52 games for the Thunder in 2022-23. He averaged 8.0 points, 4.9 rebounds and 2.0 assists while shooting 51.7% from the floor, 37.3% from 3 and 43.6% from the foul line.
