Robin Lopez is signing with the Milwaukee Bucks to play with his brother, Brook Lopez, according to NBA insider Shams Charania of The Athletic and Stadium. Robin and Brook were teammates on the Bucks during the 2019-20 season.
Robin played for the Cleveland Cavaliers last season. He appeared in 37 games and averaged 3.0 points and 1.4 rebounds while shooting 64.0% from the field, 50.0% from beyond the arc and 77.8% from the free-throw line.
Robin has career averages of 8.5 points and 4.8 rebounds with the Phoenix Suns, New Orleans Hornets, Portland Trail Blazers, New York Knicks, Chicago Bulls, Bucks, Washington Wizards, Orlando Magic and Cavaliers. He is 35 years old.
Brook was an unrestricted free agent this summer and heavily courted by the Houston Rockets. However, the All-Star re-signed with the Bucks on a two-year, $48 million contract. Brook averaged 15.9 points, 6.7 rebounds, 1.3 assists and 2.5 blocks for the Bucks in 78 games last season while shooting 53.1% from the floor, 37.4% from 3 and 78.4% from the free-throw line. The big man made 136 3-pointers.

Brook has career averages of 16.4 points, 6.3 rebounds, 1.4 assists and 1.8 blocks with the Brooklyn Nets, Los Angeles Lakers and Bucks. The Lakers were interested in signing him this summer.
The Bucks hired Adrian Griffin as their new head coach after firing Mike Budenholzer. Khris Middleton, who signed a new contract with Milwaukee, and Giannis Antetokounmpo met with Griffin during the interview process. Antetokounmpo loves playing with Middleton and Brook, so it made sense for the Bucks to keep Giannis happy by re-signing his pals. It will be fascinating to see how Milwaukee does next season with a first-year head coach.
