6 NBA Teams Eyeing Eric Gordon In Free Agency, Including Lakers

The Los Angeles Clippers surprised the NBA with their decision to move on from Eric Gordon after swinging big to acquire him ahead of the NBA trade deadline. With that move, it has given Gordon the freedom to find the best fit possible for him in free agency. At this point in time, there are six teams interested in signing Gordon, including the Los Angeles Lakers.

Other teams that have been linked to Gordon include the Milwaukee Bucks, Phoenix Suns, Minnesota Timberwolves, Memphis Grizzlies, and Portland Trail Blazers.

That report comes from Kelly Iko of The Athletic. Gordon is certainly an intriguing option for many contenders who are looking for some scoring and shooting off the bench.

During the 22 games and 11 starts that Gordon had with the Clippers following the trade, he averaged 11.0 points, 2.1 assists, and 1.7 rebounds. He shot 46.3 percent from the floor and 42.3 percent from the three-point line.

Those numbers show why the listed teams above would pursue Gordon in free agency.

Looking at the potential landing spots for Gordon, there are a few that stick out above the rest. The Bucks, Lakers, and Suns are obviously championship contending teams. With Gordon being 34 years old, he will likely be looking for the best role he can find with the best potential chance to win a ring.

It can be very difficult to find elite shooting in the NBA. Even more rare is an elite shooter with a long and proven track record of being consistent. Gordon can bring all of that to any team that signs him.

All of that being said, it will be interesting to see where Eric Gordon lands in NBA Free Agency. Each of the teams above are quality potential suitors. He certainly is not short on options to play the next chapter of his career with.
