The Boston Celtics fell just short of winning the Eastern Conference two consecutive NBA seasons in a row. After falling down 3-0 in the Eastern Conference Finals against the Miami Heat, Boston stormed all the way back to tie things up and head back home for Game 7. Alas, it wasn’t meant to be as the Celtics were blown out of their home gym in the deciding game.
That leads to some questions about the franchise heading into the offseason. Many people have questioned head coach Joe Mazzulla and would like to see a move made there. But, that won’t be happening, as the franchise has already committed to him being on the sideline next season.
Some changes could be coming to the roster. There is a lot of uncertainty surrounding Jaylen Brown, who became eligible for a supermax after making an All-NBA team. Will the Celtics offer him that contract and does he even want to be in Boston long-term?
He will be there for at least one more season, which should lead to the team attempting to go all-in this offseason. They were on the cusp of an NBA Championship and just need a little more to get them there.
