Everyone makes mistakes. NBA front offices are no exception. 

Sometimes, a front office makes a regrettable trade. Perhaps the player they acquired at the deadline was due to hit free agency. If they walk in the summer, that team gave up assets for a half-season rental. 

The Toronto Raptors may have made that mistake. This team acquired Jakob Poeltl at this year’s trade deadline. Now, it looks like he may walk in free agency anyway. 

It’s being reported that Poeltl isn’t interested in a rebuild. At the same time, the Raptors shouldn’t compound their mistake by avoiding a rebuild in a bid to maintain a solid starter.

It may be that the best thing they can do is admit to their errors and move on.
