The NBA draft always invites speculation. Without fail, we will discuss rumors leading up to the big day. 

Some teams will be watched with an especially close eye. This year, everyone is talking about the Charlotte Hornets and the Portland Trail Blazers.

Each of these teams is a strong candidate to make a major move with a high pick. 

By contrast, the Los Angeles Lakers are not one of the main teams to watch. This team has the 17th pick in the draft. That’s not exactly a premium asset. 

Still, it’s being reported that the Lakers are interested in moving this pick. It seems like they’d like to move up.

On the other hand, the Lakers could be looking to flip that pick for another asset or two.
