NBA Trades — Miami Heat Land Karl-Anthony Towns
Minnesota Timberwolves Receive: G Tyler Herro, G/F Victor Oladipo, 2023 First-Round Pick (No. 18 – MIA), 2027 First-Round Pick (MIA), 2029 First-Round Pick (MIA)
Miami Heat Receive: F/C Karl-Anthony Towns
Meanwhile, Towns may not be the big that most Heat fans would picture. There would be concerns here.
For starters, didn’t the Wolves just learn that Towns doesn’t pair well with another big man? Didn’t we just say that Miami had to concede in bringing the defensively limited Kevin Love out for the sake of size? What sense does this make?
Well, Bam Adebayo is not Rudy Gobert. In fact, his switchability would likely be more suited to supporting Towns on that end of the floor.
Meanwhile, Towns is, to put it simply, a lot better than Love at this stage in their careers.
On Minnesota’s end, this gives them a better-fitting roster around Anthony Edwards. It also has them making up a lot of the draft capital they conceded to acquire Rudy Gobert.
