Yes. In fact, for Minnesota, this is all about fit. 

Gobert and Towns may feel like a balanced frontcourt duo. In practice, they’re problematic. Towns can’t guard the perimeter, and the duo is too slow in tandem to complement Anthony Edwards. 

Now, imagine a trio of Gobert, Anunoby, and Jaden McDaniels. That’s one of the best defensive frontcourts in the NBA. Scoring on the Wolves will go from being a cakewalk to a gauntlet. 

Does this deal place a high burden on Edwards to carry the offense? Sure. Still, the Wolves should trust this young man to shoulder that burden.
