The Golden State Warriors are open for business this NBA offseason. With Draymond Green set to reach free agency if he declines his player option and Klay Thompson needing a contract extension soon, it’s expected.
Nobody is safe. Well, besides Steph Curry of course. Otherwise, anyone on this roster could be a candidate to be traded. Even Green and Thompson have to be evaluated, but there will be plenty of other names that get brought up in trade buzz first.
Some players will be on the block because they’ve underperformed. Jordan Poole just clued up a weak season. Meanwhile, Jonathan Kuminga may be too raw to contribute to a contender.
On the other hand, a player could get traded for the specific reason that they’re valuable.
For example, if the Warriors moved Andrew Wiggins, that would be the reason. He makes a lot of money and took a step back in this year’s playoffs compared to where he was a season ago.
Could they send him to the Memphis Grizzlies?
