Apparently, the Orlando Magic are hoping to trade higher into the NBA Draft lottery. We’ll see about that.
Sure. the Magic have the sixth and eleventh overall picks. That’s a valuable package. Here’s the question – if they’d rather have one higher pick over those two, why wouldn’t the teams with the higher picks?
On the other hand, it’s worth asking a question: why are the Magic trying to trade higher into the lottery?
Is it because they’ve already got an exciting young core, and don’t need to add two more prospects to that core?
If so, couldn’t they explore trades outside of the draft altogether? If Orlando feels like they need to add one major piece rather than two smaller ones, those picks will have plenty of value around the league.
Could they flip one of them for Darius Garland of the Cleveland Cavaliers?
