After all, this is a sign-and-trade. This deal only happens if Grant wants it to happen. If he’s not interested in joining the Knicks, he can simply hit the open market and choose a team that has a mutual interest in signing him.
Teams seldom get fair value in sign-and-trade situations. Why would they?
