It’s rumored that the Portland Trail Blazers want to trade the 3rd overall pick in the 2023 NBA Draft. Apparently, they want to move it for an elite small forward. 

Sure. With that said, that’s easier said than done. Elite small forwards don’t grow on trees, and teams like to hold onto them. 

Let’s assume that Portland ends up trading the third pick for Pascal Siakam of the Toronto Raptors. This is a thought experiment, but it’s a feasible one.

This is a trade that’s prominent in the rumor mill. What will the Blazers do about Jerami Grant? He and Siakam play the same position.

With that in mind, in these circumstances, Portland may look to sign and trade Grant.
